Have had good experiences with both places. Bought most of my Olympus
stuff from Tri-State Camera in NY.

Early ones are expensive, and probably very well made. Price will
probably drop to $30 in about six months - my cheaper R to 4/3
adapters have worked ok.

Prices keep falling on CF/SD cards - have a 2 or 4gb spare or two to
start with. Expand extra cards as sales come up. Most eBay memory
cards are counterfeit. I buy at Radio Shack or Staples when sales happen.

>I want a back-up battery. Do I need a charger?

Sometimes batteries come with a charger at not much more cost than a
battery. Clone eBay batteries have worked OK for me, maybe not quite
the time as on an OEM battery, but not bad. I think a minimum of
three batteries plus a spare charger is a good rule.

Chicks dig red?

>Is anyone out there a fan of service agreements for these things?

I usually forget where the service agreement is by the time I need it.
