Here are a few impressions to add to those Hoppy already posted - and the only ones showing his gorgeous M8 in its lovely leather case :-) As wives do, Frauke refused to be posted here, maybe Geoff has a good one of her?? http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/LUG_BERLIN/?g2_page=1 After dinner and drinks on Friday evening, Geoff and I got together on Saturday to visit a couple of Leica temples (W?stefeld and the Leica Shop), enjoy a really good coffee at Kempinskis and wander some well and lesser known streets of Berlin (unintentionally! We took a wrong turning after going through the "Topography of Terror " exhibition and both got totally disorientated despite the map - half of the streets we walked weren't even on it!). After parting, Frauke and I visited friends in Charlottenburg for dinner at Leonhardt's and got thoroughly wet in the process of getting there. Sunday, the Hoppys went off to Potsdam (looking forward to seeing the pictures, Geoff), while Frauke and I took a trip to the flea market on the Strasse des 17.Juni followed by coffee on the banks of the River Spree and a 4-hour boat trip through the waterways of Berlin with a friend of ours from former East Berlin. More to come from the drive from Hannover to get to Berlin and the trip back today - digital stuff first and then scanned slides when I get the films developed. Hope you enjoy the first batch. If you ever get the chance to meet Hoppy and Bron on their travels, take it - Frauke and I had a really good time. Cheers Douglas
