Some days I don't feel like carrying around anything larger than a P&S. Some days I want AF. Other days I don't. Still other days I'm in the mood for 4x5. Part of the enjoyment of photography, for me at least, comes from using different instruments -- even though some are less user friendly than others. :-) DaveR -----Original Message----- From: Frank Filippone [mailto:red735i at earthlink.net] Sent: Thursday, March 05, 2009 11:18 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: Re: [Leica] no more R9 and R lenses - compatibility with new AFsystem I understand.... and I have used lenses in this way.. it is just that I PREFER not to. And I think I am not in the minority! Your tolerance quotient and mine may be very different! Getting used to and wanting something else may go hand in hand...... Frank Filippone red735i at earthlink.net It may be awkward, but not that bad. I use my Elmarit-R 2.8/28 with an adapter on my Oly E-510, and it works ok in aperture-priority mode. If I want to focus wide open, I then have to manually stop it down, but you can get used to it. Jim Nichols
