Try Jim McShane for KT-88 tubes. He is an expert on these and an  
extremely reliable and trustworthy seller of tubes. The new Genelex  
Gold Lion KT-88 reissue tubes seem to be the current favorites of many.

And yes, there is a definite audible difference between tubes and SS.  
Like comparing Leica lenses and (fill in the blank). It only matters  
to those who can tell the difference.
