We remove them at our house in town.  We leave them on the ground at 
the farm.  I prefer leaving them on the ground ;-)  It was always a 
Thanksgiving tradition that Tommy and the kids would work all day 
raking leaves while I cooked the turkey.  Now that the kids are gone, 
we have a leaf blower!  We have several huge old pin oaks in our yard 
in town and I'm sure they have more than a million leaves per 
tree.  The leaves also clog up the gutters so Tommy has to climb on 
the steep roof and clean them out every couple of weeks.

At the farm we have many oaks, dogwoods, maples, pecans, hickory, 
walnuts, etc.  The leaves make a beautiful carpet on the ground and 
turn into excellent mulch.  We've been out picking up pecans today 
and got about two gallon.  What a beautiful fall day!!
