I set Document type to: film. Film type to: positive for color slides. I turn all in-scanner adjustments off, except sometimes the unsharp mask. I scan with 48 bit color (or 16 bit grayscale) at 350 dpi to a target size of AT LEAST 4x6 inches, better larger. In PSE I save a large version as TIFF and working verisons as .Jpg. Usually just use brightness and contrast slider and the spotting tool to manipulate images. Dust is a constant battle withthe slide and scanner glass surfaces. Absolutely abhor photos doctored for content. Hope this helps. Others here on this? Chrome C-Biogon 2.8/35 & CZ hood arrived yesterday. Can't wait to use it today. Very nicely styled lens, bigger than my 3.5/50 Elmar and 2.0/50 Summicron collapsibles, but still pretty compact. Hood inverts but doesn't bayonet in that way. CZ front cap fits inside hood (better than older Leitz cap designs). Just based on exteriors I will probably get the 4.5/21 C-Biogon next. Anyone using the CZ 2.8/35 or 4.5/21 on this list? Pictures somewhere? ==== From: Lluis Ripoll <luisripoll@telefonica.net> Jan, Of course your Elmar 3,5/50 is more modern than mine, it gives a very good performance. But now I have a question for you, I'm scanning with an Epson Perfection 3170, I suppose very similar to yours, and I've never obtained the very good quality you are showing us, please give me your advice about your adjunstements....and "secrets". Thank you very much!
