I don't think the Noct is/was supposed to appeal to the average Leica owner.
For that kind of money or even what it was going for before it was for
people who were more lucky and or gifted financially. Or it it was the core
of their work someone who would finance it. Though the used prices sometimes
on eBay perhaps for people good at playing that game who were perhaps a bit
more well to do. But still not in the "what lenes are I bidding on today on
eBay?" list.
Its not your average lens.
And its not you average expensive lenes.
Its your average expensive expensive special purpose lens.
