"We have been actively engaged in this since the news of the kidnapping occurred," [Prime Minister]Kevin Rudd said yesterday. "We have deployed additional staff from our mission in Pretoria to our high commission in Nairobi, which is handling this case at a consular level," he said. "DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) officials are providing consular assistance to the family in Australia." No claim of responsibility or ransom demands have been made, and the motive for the kidnapping remains unknown. A spokesman for the Somali Government said the whereabouts of Brennan, Lindhout and a Somali photographer who was their translator were unknown. "But we are getting information they are still in captivity," he said. Geoff http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/e http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/
