Gee, that really sounds like fun.

Go into that one catalog with Photoshop to edit a file and it starts
looking for 20,000 thumbnails when you browse the directory.

Not even MSDOS was THAT bad. There is a reason for file systems being
the way they are. File systems are really quite useful.

I don't want a meta-file-system hiding the facts. I don't want to HAVE
to use Lightroom in order to find my stuff.

I can very well understand why you quit sorting your images according
to country etc, if you are using Lightroom.
