But since I have only one functioning knee, the 200 yard hike from my handicapped parking spot to my office is equivalent to your GC down and up hike. When I was last at the GC, there was a rescue helicopter available to help those who "bit off more than they could chew". Remember also the high altitude. A youngster of 62 could certainly make the trip down to the bottom Let me know exactly when so I can make a phone call to Lloyds of London. :-P Jerry leo wesson wrote: > Tina > > Give Colin Fletcher's book, "The Man Who Walked Through Time" a read. > > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Fletcher > > Leo > > On Fri, Aug 1, 2008 at 5:45 PM, Tina Manley <images@comporium.net> wrote: > > >> LUG: >> >> I'm just recovering from all of the hiking in Honduras and my husband has >> signed us up for a hike down the Grand Canyon on Bright Angel Trail, >> spending the night at Phantom Ranch, and hiking back up the next day on >> the >> South Kaibab Trail.
