Hi Barney,

It's a throwback to the days when I used to develop and print my own b&w. 
The degree of enlargement for a 35mm negative was so 
high that I always tried to hold on to as much of the negative as possible. 
It doesn't apply to that shot but old habits etc. :-)

I also wanted to give a sense of how tiny the flower is. Almost all of the 
flowers I post are wild and as such tend to be on the 
small side to say the least, Scarlet Pimpernel is about 0.5 inch (14mm) 
across.
