Philip

I'd reconsider immigrating if I were you. Trying to escape police state
tactics by moving to Spain could be a mistake. I've not been there in 30
years but do remember cold hard stares from Guardia Civil. When the
police prowl the streets with Uzis I'd be careful of demanding my
"rights". :-)

Still yet, I agree with you about our current state of affairs. The
real issue though? Where the hell does one go? Perhaps the Scandinavian
countries are more tolerant of individual rights? Perhaps we'd die of
boredom as well. France is not a bastion of individual rights and
England seems to have followed our Patriot Act lead.
China?beheaded...Russia?disappeared...Japan? Too polite...Africa?
Lions, tigers and bears (plus too many damn snakes)...Italy? Too
fattening... Germany? Too cooperative... The darn list is endless. I
would have suggested Australia until reading Hoppy's post. His
rationale concerning the need to sacrifice for security scared me.
Hoppy, have you been secretly writing press releases for the Bush
administration? :-)

Peace

Walt
