With Big Brown going for Horse Racing's Triple Crown during Saturday's  
running of the Belmont Stakes, I offer this picture taken 35 years ago, 
almost  to 
the day.
 
Secretariat wins the 1973 Belmont Stakes by a still remarkable 34  lengths.

I still have my winning ticket.  The $2.00 bet paid $2.20.

crop.
