For example, I know for sure that the Summicron 50 R covers a good portion of the XPan frame. Certainly, for argument sake, if the majority of the R lens cover a larger image circle than the 24x36 frame, then for them to release such a camera will be a good selling point. If the base price is at least $7000 (R9+DMR), then adding a few millimeters here and there in the sensor for another $1000 make sense.
