Subject: [Leica] Noctilux DOF Film vs. M8

Do you know where your M8 and Noctilux is today?
Perhaps call it on its cell phone and tell it to come home right after
school on its little skate board.
As it would be so great if some of the dozen or so of us which have M8's to
go out and take pictures at f 5.6 and see if any or all of them do or do not
come out.
I'm all ears.

I can see how ISO 160 @ 8000th of a second can make for quite a high enough
exposure value (EV) to make for f 1 shooting with no need to stop down in
that sense perhaps making f 5.6 shooting a moot point.
But sounds like an unreasonable bummer to me I've used the lens and at times
a shot requires some Depth of field so you have to throw this razor thin DOF
thing to the dogs and just get the shot. Shame to have to change to another
50.
So I hope some people who own this stuff could prove me right or prove me
wrong.

I have a Noctilux if someone has an M8 we can meet up later and pool our
resource and get some 5.6 shots or die trying.
I'm at 109 and Central Park West I'll meet you half way or come over.
646-752-8800 I'll duck tape my cell phone to my left ear.

F 5.6 and be there!

I hope the next 50mm Leica makes is an f 5.6!
It could be amazingly low priced and compact as a thimble. Effortlessly
sharper than heck and great flare characteristics with an outer glass to air
diameter of 12mm.
Its not as if focusing or viewing would be dimmer.

I'd settle for an f 4.
