For me, this is a moot point. Except for posting to the LUG Gallery, the scanned image is secondary to the original. I enjoy looking at my Kodachrome slides primarily with a loupe, or projected, as a second choice, rather than on a computer screen or print. It's fun to wander among the fabulous details and never see square pixels, no matter the magnification. And if I can't get time to make prints from B&W, in the mean time seeing the negative is pleasure enough.
