Inventory of both is sufficient to the tasks for which they were acquired. > How many of us shoot more pictures with Leicas than bullets from guns? Over time it probably averages out. On range days, I fire many more shots than I do on any single Leica day, but there are more Leica days than range days. > Is there a natural affinity for lovers of precise machinery between Leicas > and fine firearms? I'm not sure there's a traceable relationship beyond the enjoyment of mastering (or trying to master) a very exacting task requiring skill and dedicated practice. The fact that my Leicas and my firearms are very well made is more about suitability to task than the intrinsic pleasure of the machine; some of the things I use in other areas are crude, at best, and yet using them well brings the same pleasure.-- R.
