Luis I have on several occasions posted here a list of the effective rangefinder base for a number of RF camera systems. In minature-format, the Kodak Ektra takes the cake, with a huge effective base. The Leica thread-mount cameras have a longer effective base than do the M's which makes them essentially more accurate. The Prewar Contax II and III and the Postwar Jena Contax and Kiev RF clones are significantly better, though, than the later LTM cameras and have a better VF to boot. (About fifteen years back, I started writing a history of the Leitz works and the Leica camera. I got up to the introduction of the M series and it got set aside for other projects. This table comes from this work. Someday I ought to go back and finish it: the text is on my computer though, admittedly, the last significant writing was two computers back. I always copy the important stuff such as my writings and Wolfenstein 3D when I buy a new computer.) Marc msmall@aya.yale.edu Cha robh b?s fir gun ghr?s fir!
