It isn't about guns, "It's about people!" And has been all along if anyone paid attention to Kyle's photography. Yep there are guns in the pictures, but quite frankly it's the people who are the dynamic subjects and far more interesting. And as a topic for a book, particularly in the USA where it seems everyone and their brother carry a gun or own one, it couldn't be a hotter topic. Beats the heck out of "Armed Chair America!" Like that would be a hot topic seller. ;-) Gerry I don't know where you've been these past many months when Kyle posted the odd picture from his book series. Sure there are guns, quite an amazing arsenal to say the least. But not once was there a comment good, bad nor ugly whether the guns were good, bad or evil. Pro or con. Man this is an amazing book about the "people of a nation" their culture and how they see and feel it should be "guarded." I'd have a copy of Kyle's book faster than spending a dime on a Henri Cartier Bresson book of ancient photo times. Certainly when I can have a book as hot as the 6 o'clock news! As photographers one and all who have an interest in "photography" I'd have this book in my personal collection in the blink of an eye. Not because it's about or not about guns. Because the guy who produced the photography is a LUG family member and it's an incredible concept as a subject. People! Quite frankly I hate guns, period! However my far better judgment on the topic is better left at home, no point in starting a gun riot.... I'd lose! Quite simply put, I want this book for the immediacy of the people photography! ted
