[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Last week I was gently reminded by a friend that the triathlon I'd planned to enter in a couple of weeks (www.thegreatrace.org) involves more than just running and that I ought to train for the bicycle and kayak legs of the race as well.. so early Saturday morning I took the bicyle for a long ride around a nearby lake, and along the way I spotted a family of California Quail that seemed unusually tolerant of the people passing by on the trail. Returning this morning, this time with camera & Telyt I managed a few photos, the best of which is at http://wildlightphoto.com/birds/odontophoridae/caqu03.html Technical stuff: R8/DMR @ ISO 400, 1/2000 sec @ f/6.8, 560mm f/6.8 with UET-R extension tube, shoulder stock & monopod.
