There was a lecture today at the DDay Museum on Patton's Photograph's - War As He Saw It. Jeff Smith(who bailed on me to eat wet BBQ today) reviewed the book on his blog last year - http://400tx.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html Like Jeff says, the reproduction is poor for a $40 book but at least today I found out why. Patton's photograph albums are in the Library of Congress and the Library charges a good sum for reprints, and for the author scanning negatives was going run over $8,000. In the end he had a photographer just photograph the photos, which as you can tell in the book had no retouching as the photos show water stains and scratches. So at least Patton's negatives still exist and maybe one day someone will print some large images for display. Patton's Leica resides at Ft Knox. Only wet images to post so far: http://www.zoeicaimages.com/html/4thofjuly.html Chris
