Drawbridge has always been a no man's land, sitting in an island outside of San Jose and the then small town of Alviso. In the 20s and 30s, half of the town is filled with brothels as the police feared to tread in a town where nearly everyone was armed. The last inhabitant left in 1979. In a scant twenty years, nothing remains except broken down shells of former houses and foot bridge to nowhere. http://www.dragonsgate.net/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=3232 My wife took some digital photos which I will process in the next few days. // richard (This email is for mailing lists.
