Subject: [Leica] DIY lens coding durability

Nikon does this with the D200.  You stick on an old manual lens and in 
the menu you enter the focal length and aperture of the lens and hey it 
knows what lens is there.  Pretty sweet. 

Only thing the Nikon has the Leica does not is the AI connection, but if 
the software is simply helping with the cyan creep then all you need is 
the focal length, right?
