American television addicts may remember Dr. Johnny Fever, resident  
burnout deejay on "WKRP in Cincinnati." When Howard Hessemann came  
through Little Washington promoting some charity, I asked him to  
reprise his role for me in lieu of doing a grip-and-grin with local  
politicos.

He was very kind and did so. He was a nice guy.
