Yep...and Gene made himself deaf when staging a photo during WWII. The photo of the "marines" near an exploding shell, well that aint a Marine, it is Gene Smith. He set his camera up on remote and got into position, the Marines refused to put anyone there, it was too close and too dangerous. So Gene did it himself.
