I always ask to see their books on total investment in their sport - they never want to discuss - the run of losses before their big win. Add up everything that you've spent over the years, every piece of software, every computer upgrade, every megabyte of memory and storage, all the bodies, scanners, I mean absolutely everything that has gone into your digital photography - look at what it's worth if you sold it today at market prices. Include your life time spent scanning. The differential would buy one hell of a lot of slide film and processing. YMMV ;~) but my digital life makes no economic sense what-so-ever.
