Today I drove up to San Francisco to have lunch with my daughter and in leaving the restaurant I accidentally got onto a road that forced me onto the Bay Bridge, heading to Berkeley. There was an exit to the Treasure Island navy base, and I took it. I turned around to head back and saw a breathtaking fogbound view with a container ship steaming by. I don't normally shoot landscapes but this one looked irresistible. I had the M8 with me (as I always do) but it had a borrowed 24/2.8 on it, wider than any lens I've ever used, and so I thought to myself "This is an M8. I'll be able to zoom in if I need to, or make a really wide blowup if it's good enough." There were horrid amounts of UV and IR blasting everywhere. Maybe the pictures will come out. I'll let you know, and if anything is good enough I'll even let you see it. But not once did I think "Drat. All I have is a filterless M8 so I'd best not attempt this shot." I thought "Let's push that shutter button and see what happens." f/5.6 @ 1/2000 and be there. Brian Reid
