Nathan, that has changed a lot in the past few years and it seems to be
generational.  My daughter is 27 and among her friends "African-American" is
the only term I ever hear used.  Most people of my own generation would
still say "black."  My mom still uses "Negro."  My social circle is
inter-generational so I hear both AA and black, with AA on the increase.
