And maybe I'd prefer people think that instead of know the ugly truth about
my family.  :)

When shooting B&W film with dominant (white) skin tones, I'd meter the face,
put that in zone 6 (+1 exposure), and then develop normally.  Sometimes, my
highlights would blow.  Sometimes, my shadows would block.  But my skin
tones were great, and that's what most people care about when looking at
pictures of people.
