I want to know WTF makes Tom's Rapidwinder to > be considered a WMD? I have one on my M6 > and cannot figure out why one should cause an airport security official to > have an erection and confiscate it? > > The world wants to know, so tell us!<<<< Well now Jerry for openers, " you are of normal everyday intelligence like the rest of us and do not understand the stupidity of the security people!" Right? Therefore I suppose one should ask...... "have you been through many USA and some other countries airports in the past few years?" That is, you've actually had time attempting to speak with these people? unloading camera bags time after time after time while trying to explain to some of the "Western World" Neanderthal security people who purportedly keep us safe while flying? That this is my working camera gear. No? Well it works like this...... some occasions, not necessarily all! A/ The number of items they will not let you carry on board a flight is beyond the most rediculous of imagination. Hell even James Bond wasn't that good at devising "simple weapons of any destruction!" compared to these people.... And again I'll clarify in bold letters... "NOT ALL OF THEM!" The Rapid Winder has in the wildest sense of imagination, a pointy thing to advance the film. It immediately becomes a lethal weapon of some destruction in the eyes of mini-minded Neanderthals. "CONFISCATION" IS THE NEXT WORD YOU HEAR!" Good bye Rapid Winder!! Unless there's some way to mail it home "right there" or have it handled in some simple intelligent manner for safe keeping during the flight. So that at least you could have it at the other end! Oh heaven for bid................." that's way too simple!" "CONFISCATE!" It's a weapon of mass destruction! Like why not have a big box the stuff could be placed in and locked below in the cargo area and put out for retrieval upon arrival. No different than short haul flights where one places hand bags on a cart instead of carrying into the cabin and the baggage handlers place all those bags into the hold. And before you're off the plane all those items are on a similar looking cart ready for you to take along to your next stop or wherever! I expect to see a few other answers to your question...................? > The world wants to know, so tell us!<<<< I do hope this answers your question. ted
