I have on my agenda to spend some quality time with Lightroom this week. Alastair--there seem to be two specs of dust on my 1D Mark II sensor which have resisted all attempts to remove with blown air, and I am not willing to try any of the more aggressive solutions involving liquids, brushes etc. These two dust specs are only visible in large areas of uniform colour (e.g. blue sky), and since I do not take many such pictures, it is no big deal just to use the healing brush in Photoshop when needed.
