I appreciate the visual evidence. Since I seldom need to shoot above 640 in available light, the 640 shot seems to me to be convincingly good. Manual WB is quite effective and allays my concerns about poor M8 WB under artificial light. Len Taupier pointed out to me that IR hot mirror filters have a filter factor of 1 and, therefore, do not cause a loss of light. This makes the case for buying an M8, for use even under artificial light conditions, all the more persuasive. (Len Taupier's nature shots demonstrate the M8's brilliance in available day light.) Leica's M8 delivery scheduling, in what must be an act of selfless wisdom, is apparently going to give me a lot of time to think about it and make a decision. With my thanks to all the helpful responders, Tom P. ____________________________________________________________________________________ 8:00? 8:25? 8:40? Find a flick in no time with the Yahoo!
