Shadow detail. Tri-X holds it deep down into the shadows. BW400CN goes ugly-noisy. 2. BW400CN is really at its best at EI 200 or 250, not 400. 3. If you even *looked* harshly at its predecessor, T400CN, the negs would get scratched.
