I use PS CS on my desktop PC at home (Windows XP). Until recently I also used PS CS on my Powerbook, and was always able to move PSD files seamlessly between the two computers. But recently I upgraded my Apple Photoshop to CS2. This is what I used to process all the images I made during the trip to Poland. When I came home, I transferred the files from the Powerbook to the desktop. And here comes the strange part: some of the PSD files I saved in PS CS2 on the Apple will not open in PS CS on the PC. Now, if this were the case with ALL of them, then I would simply conclude that the PSD files simply are not backward compatible. But it seems completely random; only about 10-20% of the images are affected, and there is no systematic difference between the images that will open on the PC and those that will not. The problem affects only PSD files; TIFF files that I created in PS CS2 open in PS CS with no problem, 100% of the time. Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening? Is it a compatibility issue between OSX and Windows, between CS and CS2, or a combination of the two?
