The EXIF 2.1 standard specifies "exposure time" to be an "unsigned rational". That means it is a fraction. Hugh's picture lists "3331/99931" as the shutter speed. If you divide that out, it's 1/30 of a second. Well, almost: 1/30 is 3331/99930. It's the job of the program displaying EXIF data to reduce a fraction before displaying it. Because the camera listed 99931 as a denominator instead of 99930, the Gallery software didn't reduce it to 1/30 before displaying it.
