Bernardo -  I agree, it's probably a bad card.  I 
haven't had any problems with the SanDisk 
cards.  The newest Extreme III ones are the 
fastest to load and download.  2GB is as large as 
Leica says the M8 supports in the SanDisk cards.  That's what I use.
