The 5D was all I needed to move into digital.  I couldn't justify $8k for
the 1Ds, but $3k for full frame seemed about right.  If I went with a
cropped body for my main body, I'd need to buy another lens, and it would
end up costing me about the same, anyway.

At first, I was really nervous about digital.  And assumed that I'd be
shooting the really important stuff on real silver B&W film.  No more.  My
digital files are safer than my film has ever been.  I only have one copy of
my negatives, and if my house burns down, they're gone.  My favorite digital
files are replicated all over the place, and then some.
