If you expected them to be able to pull off a camera, especially an electromechanical camera, you were mis-directed. Cosina can not keep their RF in calibration, and they built the RD-1 on a Cosina platform that was having problems. Bad start. They have no presence in cameras, they have no interest in other than mass market things ( a $2000++++ camera is NOT mass market), and they expect you will throw it away when you get tired of it or it goes out of calibration, and hopefully buy another form Epson. Repair? You are kidding..... Someone want to guess how long these will have repair support? Another year? Less? It was the only choice when it was introduced. If you needed it or wanted it, you dealt with the issues it had/has. It had serious support issues ( Epson). It is now a very much #2 in the race to Digital RF.... and will go the way of the Mx80.. a printer that got Epson into the PC printer business to begin with....... Sell off your RD-1 and go get a real Leica.... at least they are dependent on the M8 success to remain in business..... not so with Epson..... Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net
