They are very userfriendly to the people who use them. Because Mac Mail
breaks URLs so easily, it includes, built in, an automatic un-breaker so
that if it is reading a URL that was broken by another Mac, it will repair
it so that the recipient doesn't even see it.
Outlook has done something similar for years, but at least Outlook has a
Preferences panel that will turn off this behavior. Mac Mail breaks URLs
unless you enter them properly, and there is no way to disable that behavior.
