I waited a long time to get one. Now I wonder why I didn't get one sooner. I calibrated by eye for a long time. But after using a hardware solution I'm convinced it's the way to go. They're very affordable now. I bought the least expensive version of the Spyder for around $60. I didn't go for software bells and whistles of the more expensive solutions. I figure the standards in the base Colorvision software are more than adequate. Although calibration made a noticeable difference on two LCD monitors that I use, it made a huge difference on my Lacie Electron Blue CRT. "I was blind and now I see." Maybe not quite that dramatic, but it made me a believer. daveR
