The kicker's leg gets a wee bit lost in that dark background (although that's probably more the fault of my monitor, which though calibrated is an LCD that's not the best.) You should have told her to "hold that pose" and then asked the kid in the background to move. :-) It really is a dramatic "decisive moment" image. daveR -----Original Message----- From: Harrison McClary [mailto:harrison@mcclary.net] Sent: Monday, October 30, 2006 9:30 PM To: leica@freelists.org; Leica Users Group Subject: [Leica] Flying Kicks and Other things I went to the kids school fall festival this past weekend. While there I saw one of my friend's daughter break a board. I made a photo of her performance with my M6. http://www.pbase.com/2plus2/moments Lens was the Noctilux, a 50mm f 1.0 lens. I was at 1/2 stop above f1. Pretty wide open there. I think it turned out nice. I shot one other shot of her where she broke the board with a standing kick, caught that one with her foot just snapping the board in to, but it is not as nice as this flying kick is. Also there are a few other shots on that link made recently that I like, but all are with OT camera gear. -- Harrison McClary Harrison McClary Photography harrison@mcclary.net http://www.mcclary.net ImageStockSouth - Stock Photography http://www.imagestocksouth.com Tobacco Road: Personal Blog: http://web.mac.com/whmcclary/iWeb/tobacco-road/Blog/Blog.html
