Hi Daniel, I can see why you are fond of that lens.
Regarding the "flare" maybe I used the wrong term. Some veiling of the tree
shadow area? We can see that it is strong backlighting and of course the
background lighting is very bright compared to the main subject area (which
is marvellously exposed for). I don't think it is an unpleasant or
unexpected effect in the image. In fact probably shows us that you haven't
manipulated that part of the image. Just educating myself on the lenses.
As always with your work we see lovely tonal ranges in the bw.
I have to tell you that I am putting big efforts into chasing that tonal
quality in bw right now.

On the right, around the tree, is extreme backlighting. This was in
the morning and I was pointing the camera east. Most of the frame is
in the shadows (the sun is behind the hotel), but on the right, you
can see the open parking space and the sun spilling on to it. If it is
flare or extreme over-exposure is more than I can say.

Both of the ones you mention were with the Jupiter 12.
