Howdy folks this didn't work out quite as well as I'd hope.

But at least it gives you an idea of the potential hazards of covering some 
sport events near water. ;-)

This is a floating dock for the media photogs to shoot from. So having had 
the experience of this at the '92 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, I knew what 
the possibilities were:  Photog being accidentally bumped into the water. 
:-(  Or the dock sinking several inches with camera gear and bags along with 
it. Frantic photogs trying to grab gear and shoot the final.

My choice to shoot was? Forget the swimming action and wait for the 
inevitable sinking! ;-)

Sorry to disappoint you, but it never got any worse than this with a few wet 
feet! :-) Damn I hoped the whole bunch would've gone down with the dock! ;-)

Not really, but it would've made one hell of an interesting photograph. ;-) 
Having been on the receiving end in '92! :-)
