This is ordinarily a sure-fire prescription for getting ripped off but instead of running away from the seller I wrote and asked a few questions. He turned out to be a photographer selling his 35mm equipment in favor of a larger format; he had a legitimate photo website, and the pictures of the equipment appeared to be his own photos, not pictures taken from Leica's website. The transation was great, the item (1.4x APO extender) arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
