Second, here's my tentative decision, with justifications. Any critique or input is welcome. My budget at present will support the following: Canon 30D, body only. (I could buy a 20D, new body, or 20D kit, but the 30D body is only a few dollars more, relatively speaking. Also, the kit lens is, as I understand it, not regarded all that highly.) Canon EF 50/1.4 lens. (Most of what I will be shooting for the upcoming projects I can shoot with a 50, and nearly all of what I will be shooting will be in relatively low light.) I can use my Nikon AI lenses on the 30D, and add some Leica glass as budget permits, if I feel I need it. This will bring me in on my budget and provide me with a body that will, one hopes, last me for as long as I need a digital body, and with a lens that is well-regarded for the kind of shooting I do. Opinions, comments, observations? Am I missing anything? Thanks to all, Ken ----------------------------------- The Rev.
