These girls live in a barrio of Tegucigalpa. They've been hired by a builder to carry dirt from the river bank at the bottom of the hill, to his building site about 500 feet straight up. They are paid 10 centavos per load. There are 100 centavos to a Lempira and a Lempira is worth about $.05 (one nickle) in US currency.
