I agree with Ted here; they're two different photographs with really completely different kinds of impact. The B&W shot spotlights Maria nicely but, at least for me, loses a lot of overall impact that was being carried by the bright colors. It's a simpler photograph to look at. I'm not sure whether I think that's a good thing. I kind of like the riotous color effects, just because I think they give a better feel for the cultural context. I'd keep both, myself, though I might not post them side by side. > 1. Ted, if you open two windows, one with each shot, and flip back and forth you'll see that the only change in the image is the switch from color to B&W. The photo stays the same. -- R.
