Zeiss and Zeiss Ikon were not always zealots about marking items, incidentally: the Prewar lens hoods, for instance, generally do not bear any origin markings, just the focal length of the lens for which they were intended, and Postwar CZJ front lens caps lack any marking at all. And I have come across a few Leitz items which lacked a factory marking though I acknowledge that these are quite rare. Marc msmall@aya.yale.edu Cha robh b?s fir gun ghr?s fir!
