I have not posted much in the last couple months of course (due to incredible work stress) but a couple people said similar things regarding what I was posting before then. I think if there are any improvements that I show, it is because: - I hope I am generally getting better as a photographer in terms of techniques, and that my eyes are getting more critical... - better film development technique, I am getting much cleaner negs now so very little dust or scratches - Presentation. I think this is a biggie. There are several factors, I think: === First of all, I stopped doing PAW for 4/5 months now. Not because I am not taking pictures every week, but because it has lost its value and had become a liability for me. That is, when I have an off week, I was still posting pictures and that weakens that overall impact what I post. === When I first joined, I was warned by several people that the LUG is a tough crowd. After staying a while, I noted that while that seems to be true, certain people were posting a lot of pictures, and they were not worse for wear, so I started too. I am sort of contrairy that way. Also, I always felt that I am just passing snapshots around, you know, like people may do in a restaurant or saloon when they are with friends. This took me a loooooooooooooooooooonnng time to fully understand, but while the LUG is like a saloon, and certainly have many gentle folks, most LUGgers are very critical when it comes to photographs, and LUGgers generally don't like to see (bad) snapshots. And that the people who post prolifically such as Gee Bee, post masterful pictures. Even as dimwitted as I am, eventually I got the idea... - Finally, it really is inspiring to see some of the photos shown here.
