The Cameraquest adapter is far superior to the cheaper ones--those will do the job too, but the quality of the engineering is clearly better with Cameraquest. Regarding use: I too have replaced the focusing screen in my Canon 1D Mk. 2, with a Canon screen that has a focusing aid in the centre. It works well, especially with the longer lenses. The only Leica lens I use now is the 100mm Apo Macro, and focusing that on the Canon is no problem. It helps that I tend to shoot at the wide apertures.
